A bomb blast Tuesday morning hit a high school in Hider Khil area of Ismail Khil district in Afghanistan's eastern Khost province, injuring 10 people including six students and four teachers, a health official in the province said.
"An explosive device planted by unknown men inside the Mohammad Siddiq Rohi high school exploded this morning, injuring 10 people including six students and four teachers," Dr. Amir Padshah, director of the health department in Khost told Xinhua.
The school building has been damaged in the blast, he said, adding all wounded persons have been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
However, he failed to say if any students were in critical condition.
The area has been cordoned off by police.
No group or individuals have claim responsibility for the explosion. However, officials in the past had put such attacks on Taliban militants.
The Rohi high school has seen several security incidents including attacks by heavy weapons carried out by militants over the past years as the principal of the school was killed by unknown armed men one year ago.
Taliban militants fighting Afghan and international troops have vowed to speed up their activities this year in the post-Taliban Afghanistan.
