Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban is going to surrender to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Tuesday to testify against a complaint by victims of the clashes on April 10, the Nation newspaper's website reported on Monday.

Relatives and families of victims of the clashes on April 10 between the protesters and troops, led by the opposition party Pheu Thai, filed a complaint with the DSI against Suthep and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva for allegedly ordering the crackdown, resulting in death and injuries.

Suthep's decision came after the anti-government core leaders announced they would end their prolonged rally in central Bangkok if Suthep surrendered to face the charge.

"When Suthep surrenders (to involved authorities) for the deaths, the "red-shirts" will also disperse," anti-government core leader Natthawut Saikua said at a press conference at the rally site.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep said he will arrive at the DSI office at 08:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Thai News Agency quoted DSI Director-General Tharit Pendit as saying.

The anti-government rally has been held from March 12 and the protesters are now gathering at the Rathchaprasong Intersection in the center of capital Bangkok as the House dissolution is one among their political demands.

The April 10's clashes between anti-government "red-shirts" protesters and troops around the Khok Wua Intersection in central Bangkok left 25 people killed.
