A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit central Indonesia's North Sulawesi province on Saturday, but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage, the country's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said in a statement.
The earthquake hit at 13:39 local time (0520 GMT), with the epicenter at 165 kilometers of southwest of North Sulawesi province's Gorontalo City and at a depth of 10 km under sea bed.
The agency did not issue tsunami warning.
