The country has decided to send the Korea Space Launch Vehicle- 1 (KSLV-1) into space on June 9, considering predicted weather conditions and technical preparedness, the science ministry said in a briefing.
The announcement came after a botched attempt last August to send the first KSLV-1 into the orbit, which authorities called a " half success" as faulty fairings caused the rocket to veer off course.
The rocket consists of a Russian-made first stage and a home- made second stage, which will be put together by late May, the ministry said.
