2 Taliban commanders detained, 7 killed in S. Afghanistan

Security forces have killed seven Taliban militants and detained two of their commanders in Afghanistan's southern province Helmand province, a press release of the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The commanders namely Abdul Ahad Rahmani and Abdul Hakim, according to the press release, were captured during an operation in Nad Ali and Kajaki districts early weekend.

During the operation, seven more militants were killed, it further said.

Taliban militants have yet to make comment.

A number of arms and ammunitions were also seized during the operation, it further said.
