A soldier with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed in southern Afghanistan on Saturday.

"An ISAF service member died as a result of an IED (improvised explosive device) strike in southern Afghanistan today," ISAF said in a press release.

It did not disclose the nationality of the victim.

More than 130 foreign soldiers, most of them Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
