Air strike kills 6 insurgents in E Afghanistan

Air raids against Taliban militants in in east Afghan Paktika province claimed the lives of six militants on Thursday, provincial police chief Daulat Khan Zadran said. "Taliban rebels attacked police in Yahya Khil district early today and authority called in air support and within minutes the aircrafts of NATO-led troops pounded enemies' positions killing six rebels," Zadran told Xinhua.
Three more militants, he added were wounded in the operation.
He also admitted that one police constable sustained injuries in fire exchange.
Meantime, Taliban militants who vowed to sped up activities against Afghan and NATO-led troops this year elsewhere in the country have yet to make comment.
