Vietnam and the United States will organize a six-week cultural exchange program beginning from Thursday, according to a press conference held here on Thursday.

The activity will be held in Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi and southern Ho Chi Minh City, and Pasadena and Los Angeles cities in the American state of California.

Under the program, a U.S. musician delegation will come to Vietnam and perform from March 11 to 21 and a Vietnamese musician delegation will make their performance in the United States from April 14 to May 4.

The activity is the biggest musical exchange event ever since the establishment of Vietnam-U.S. diplomatic relations. It is also part of a series of activities to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi.

The musical exchange is expected to give chances for Vietnamese audiences to enjoy current Vietnamese and international music, and bring opportunities for international friends to understand more about Vietnamese music and culture.

Within the program, there will be many other activities such as seminars on music, culture, and art management.
