South Korean President Lee Myung- bak met with Danish Prime Minister Lars Rasmussen Thursday and discussed strengthening cooperation on green growth and expanding bilateral trade and investment, Seoul's presidential office said.

In the first visit by Lars, the two leaders noted closer cooperation on renewable energy and green growth in the recent years and vowed further efforts to bolster cooperation on the fields, Cheong Wa Dae said in a statement.

They agreed to make efforts to ratify the free trade deal between South Korea and the European Union, which the Seoul government previously said is expected to be sealed by the end of April.

The two countries also agreed work more closely on international development aid, according to Cheong Wa Dae.
