Security forces have been put on alert after it is reported that some 30 to 40 areas in capital Bangkok might be targeted for bomb attacks, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuagsuban said Wednesday.

The security beef-up has been especially needed at state buildings, Thai News Agency quoted Suthep as saying.

Suthep also said the Internal Security Act (ISA) to be imposed from March 11 to March 23 in and around Bangkok to tackle the political violence won't affect normal life.

The anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will hold demonstration on March 12 when tens of thousands red-shirted supporters of UDD from the countryside will travel to Bangkok.

And on March 14 the UDD protestors will stage their mass rally at Sanam Luang, the public square in the center of Bangkok.
