Afghan President Hamid Karzai will arrive in Islamabad on March 10 on a two-day state visit to Pakistan, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.

The president of Afghanistan will meet Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, said Abdul Basit.

This will be President Karzai's first visit to Pakistan after his re-election in November 2009.

"President Karzai's visit will contribute towards further strengthening brotherly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan and in deepening and broadening multifaceted cooperation," the spokesman said in a statement.
