The Pacific Tsunami Alert Center does not include Indonesia among Asia Pacific countries affected by the major earthquake that shook Chile on Saturday, the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said Sunday.

In its website, the center paints Papua, Indonesia's easternmost territory that faces Pacific Ocean, green, as an indication that an area is safe from the impacts of tsunami.

Papua will remain unaffected by the killer wave as it is located too far away from the epicenter of the quake, which has killed over 200 people, said the agency.

Following the magnitude-8.8 quake in Chile, a number of websites said tsunami would strike six Indonesian towns at 10:00 a. m. on Sunday.

Indonesia's Aceh province and several Asian countries were hit by a tsunami following a major earthquake in the province, killing more than 200,000 people.
