Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Thursday denied rumor that she had been nominated as a candidate to head the central bank.

"No, it is not right," Mulyani said after asked to comment on the local media report that she was a candidate.

The central bank governor post has been left vacant since Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono made then central bank governor Boediono his running mate in the presidential polls in May 2009.

Mulyani and Boediono are top reformers in the Yudhoyobno cabinet.
