Moderate quake hits western Indonesia

A quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit western Indonesia of West Sumatra province on Thursday at 12:28 Jakarta time (0528 GMT), the country's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said in a statement.

The epicenter was at 32 kilometers of southwestern Mentawai Archipelago regency of the province and 123 southwestern of Mukomuko regency of Bengkulu province and at depth of 10 kilometers under seabed.

The agency did not issue a tsunami warning.
