Indonesian plane makes emergency landing

A plane belonged to Indonesia's Trigana Air made an emergency landing on a rice field at Samarinda, the provincial capital city of East Kalimantan province at 10:30 Jakarta time (0330 GMT), Antara news agency reported on Thursday.

The plane was feared missing after losing contact with the ground, a state official said.

Husin Abdullah, a spokesman for state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, told the Jakarta Post that the plane carried 44 passengers.

No further details on the incident have been provided by local authorities.
