Thailand's cabinet approves budget to finance Air Force's projects

Thailand's weekly cabinet meeting Tuesday approved a budget worth of 23.0 billion baht (696.11 million U.S. dollars) for the country's Air Force, Thai News Agency reported.

The budget worth of 23.0 billion baht will be used to finance a planned purchase of six Grippen fighter aircraft and to upgrade six F-19 fighter jets.

The budget disbursement for the two projects will take place during a five-fiscal year period starting from the 2011 fiscal year, which will be due on October 1, 2010.
