A group of armed militants have raided a house in southern Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, beheading six former militants and wounding another.

The provincial police chief Juma Gul Humat said Thursday, "A group of extremist Taliban rebels attacked a house Wednesday night in the provincial capital of Trinkot and beheaded six of their former friends who were moderate and opposing the war."

Humat also told Xinhua that another former militant was injured in the incident and has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Taliban, which often target pro-government figures, has so far made no comment on the brutal and bloody incident.
