3 Taliban militants arrested in S. Afghanistan

Afghan and NATO-led forces during a cleanup operation against Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan's Ghazni province have detained three fighters including one commander, the provincial police chief said Thursday.

"Afghan and NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops detained three Taliban rebels including one commanderin Rashidan district Wednesday night," the police chief Khayalbaz Shirzoi told Xinhua.

However, he did not give the name of the commander, adding thathe was a local rebel commander involved in organizing "subversive activities".

Taliban has so far made no comment.
