DRPK will prohibit entry of aliens from December 20 to February 2010, according to a report by Sheng Song, Global Times special correspondent in South Korea.

It is normal for DPRK to place temporary restrictions on foreign entry at the year-end and the beginning of a new year, when customs along DPRK-China border are closed, but it is very rare for the prohibition period to last until February 2010.

South Korean experts believe this is because DPRK is moving to calm the internal chaos caused by monetary reform or prevent the spread of the A/H1N1 flu.
