Tribal gunmen holding over 40 hostages in their hideout in the jungles here are set to release their captives anytime tomorrow, a state official said on Saturday.

Alfredo Plaza, a provincial spokesman, told reporters that Ondo Perez, the alleged elder from the Manobo tribe, will free the remaining hostages on Sunday.

Perez wanted the murder charges filed against him by rival clan leader Jun Tubay dropped. Tubay had accused Perez of killing his son and three relatives in February.

"They want their murder charges be dropped and their tribal group enemies be disarmed by state troops," Plaza told reporters, adding Tubay will sit down with the working committee working for the release.
