Explosion kills 5, injures 32 in NW Pakistan's Peshawar

At least five persons were killed and 32 others injured in an explosion near a local court in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar on Monday, local TV channel reported.

The blast occurred at the main entrance of Sessions Court of Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province. Several vehicles caught fire after the blast, the private TV Express reported.

Police sources said that it was a suicide bomb blast. One suspected man blew himself up when he was stopped by security men at the gate of the court.

It was reported that more than six to seven kg of explosive materials were used in the blast.

Police cordoned off the blast site. The injured, including two policemen and three lawyers, are being shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
