The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) said Wednesday they are ready to dispatch sufficient forces anytime to rescue the abducted 79-year-old Irish priest in Mindanao, southern Philippines.

MILF Spokesman Eid Kabalu said kidnappers holding Father Michael Sinnott were hiding in an area within the provinces of Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga del Norte.

"Once we receive the go signal from the military anytime, we will then send our sufficient troops to locate the priest," Kabalusaid.

Sinnott was abducted from his house in Pagadian city in southern Mindanao region on Oct. 11.

Fr. Gilbert Hingone, spokesman of the Diocese of Pagadian City, said earlier that representatives of the Catholic Church have been negotiating with the kidnappers for the safe release of Sinnott.

Hingone said the ransom was not discussed during the first negotiations between the emissaries of the kidnappers and representatives from the diocesan clergy.

The Church representatives and the captors' emissaries made their first contact Monday afternoon.
