The Sri Lankan police Friday sought public alert on a leading Tamil Tiger rebel, who is said to be roaming around the capital Colombo.
The police announced a hotline number for public information on a 32-year-old Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) member named Giri.
Meanwhile, police spokesman Nimal Mediwaka said two more members of the LTTE have been arrested at Settikulam in the northern district of Vavuniya.
Sri Lanka's defense authorities are currently engaged in the screening process of around 20,000 former LTTE members among the near 300,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) living in government welfare centers in the north.
The IDPs were displaced by the final battles between the government troops and the LTTE in the first months this year. The government has pledged to resettle most them to their original homes within six months starting from May.
The LTTE, which had been fighting for more than two decades to carve out an independent Tamil homeland in the north and east, was defeated by the troops in May.
