Police in Afghan capital Kabul have found a body of a British national from a guest house in the city, a local newspaper reported Thursday.

"The body of a British national, who had worked as advisor with the Ministry for Rural Rehabilitation and Development, was found from a room in Qasar Park Guest House last Saturday," daily Rah-e-Nejat writes in its edition.

It did not identify the reason for the Briton's death but quoted deputy to Kabul police chief Syed Ghafar Syedzada as saying the body had been sent for autopsy in hospital.

The Ministry for Rural Rehabilitation and Development had not made any comment.
