India has sealed part of its border with Nepal to prepare for the fifth phase of the general elections to be held Wednesday, said the semi-official Press Trust of India on Tuesday.
The northern state of Uttarakhand, which has 276 kilometers of border line with Nepal, will go to vote on Wednesday. Its border with Nepal was sealed at 17:00 p.m. Monday for the next two days, said the report.
This precautionary measure was taken due to the political situation in the neighboring country, said the report quoting Indian officials.
