U.S. President George W. Bush met his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, on Monday for bilateral discussions ahead of the Group of Eight (G8) summit in Hokkaido.

The two met in the morning at the hilltop Windsor Hotel, the venue for this year's G8 summit, which opened on Monday and runs through Wednesday.
