Nepal Army chopper crashes in Mt. Qomolongma region

A Nepal Army helicopter on way to rescue operation crashed in Mt. Qomolongma region Wednesday morning.

According to the sources at the Army Headquarters in the Nepali capital Kathmandu, a small "Cheeta" helicopter crashed in Kalapathar area situated near Mt. Qomolongma base camp area at around 10:38 local time (around 0453 GMT) Wednesday morning. "Cheeta" helicopter is the small helicopter made in India.

Both the crew members flying the chopper have sustained some injuries but are in safe condition, the army sources said.

Further information regarding the cause of accident is still awaited.
