Two Afghan civilians were killed as a roadside bomb struck their car in Afghanistan's eastern Khost province Sunday, Afghan Interior Ministry said.
"This morning at 8 a.m. local time a car ran over a mine in Bak district leaving dead three of its occupants," said a press release of the ministry.
The ministry blamed the enemies of Afghans, a term used against Taliban insurgents, for planting the mine on the road and denounced it.
Taliban militants have yet to make any comment.
More than 6,000 people were killed in conflicts and Taliban-related violence in Afghanistan since the beginning of 2007.
