Four of five intercity train services on the east coast line, including two train services to Singapore, resumed on Sunday after they were disrupted due to floods since last Friday, local media reported on Monday.

The restored services are the special Express Train Singapore-Tumpat (a town in northern Kelantan state), the special Express Train Tumpat-Singapore, the Tumpat-Gemas (a small town in central Negeri Sembilan state) local train and the Gemas-Tumpat local train, Malaysian railway company, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) was quoted by the local newspaper The Star as saying in a statement.

Only the Tumpat-Kuala Lumpur service remains disrupted and was expected to resume on Monday, KTMB said.

The services were resumed after floodwaters in several areas along the east coast line had receded, the statement said.

KTMB anticipates delays in the arrival and departure times of the trains as they have to reduce speed in the affected areas, according to the newspaper.
