Life remained absolutely calm in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad Monday and no untoward incident was reported in the wake of proclamation of the emergency order, according to the official APP news agency.

Routine hustle and bustle of the citizens was witnessed and the markets also remained open with great rush of shoppers there, said the APP in a report.

A few people including lawyers gathered in downtown Islamabad and tried to disturb the situation but they dispersed after some time, according to the APP.

A few lawyers of the Islamabad Bar also protested at a market but no untoward incident was reported, it said.

Public transport plied on its respective routes normally, according to the APP. The government servants, workers and private companies' employees were seen traveling to their destinations.

It said that normal security by police force and rangers was observed in Islamabad and extra deployment was only observed at the Constitution Avenue leading to the President House and the Supreme Court and a few other buildings.
