Aquino continues to lead in Philippine presidential initial tally

Liberal Party candidate Senator Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III continues to lead the race for the Philippine presidency, the country's Commission on Elections said Monday.
The votes tallied represent 57 percent of votes cast during national elections Monday.
According to votes tallied as of 11:11 p.m. Monday, Aquino got 8.95 million votes of total votes cast, Comelec Chairman Jose Melo said in a press briefing.
Joseph Estrada and Manuel Villar were in second and third place, respectively, according to partial Comelec results.
