A senior official of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) said Sunday that Iran will announce a nuclear achievement on April 9, the official IRNA news agency reported.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his cabinet members along with some high ranking officials will attend a ceremony in Tehran's Milad Tower on April 9, the country's National Nuclear Day, the spokesman of the organization Ali Shirzadian told IRNA.
The report did not release further details about the ceremony.
Iranian nuclear officials have reiterated the country's capabilities in "peaceful nuclear" developments.
In February, head of IAEO Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran began to produce 20 percent enriched uranium inside the country, IRNA reported.
Tehran's announcement provoked the West's mixed reaction of doubt and concern.
