Afghan government troops have killed seven suspected militants and arrested four others in eastern Afghanistan, a local military official said Sunday.
There was no casualties on government force in the separate conflicts in Paktia and Khost provinces on Saturday, a military spokesman in the region Matak Khan Zazai told Xinhua.
"Three armed militants were killed as they engaged with troops in Zarmat district of Paktia province yesterday and four others including an injured one were captured," Zazai said.
He added that firefight with militants in Khost province on Saturday left four rebels dead.
The Taliban outfit, fighting Afghan and foreign troops in Afghanistan since being ousted from power in late 2001, has not made any comment yet.
