Five members of a family and an auxiliary policeman were killed in a three-car pile-up accident near Pekan, Malaysian central Pahang state on Sunday, local media reported on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old policeman, along with five members of the family, died on the spot.
The only survivor in the car has been admitted in serious condition to the hospital in Kuantan, capital of Pahang state.
The accident occurred as the car was hit on the side by a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) coming from the direction of Kuantan.
The impact of the collision sent the car airborne and into the path of a four-wheel-drive vehicle coming from Segamat, southern Johor state. Three of the seven people in the MPV were injured while the driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle escaped unhurt.
It took five ambulances to ferry the dead to the Pekan Hospital and the injured to the hospital in Kuantan.
