Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf is likely to lift the state of emergency in 48 hours, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported on Wednesday.

In a "change of command" ceremony held in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, Musharraf, as Chief of Army Staff, handed over command of the army to Vice Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
