The Pakistan People's Party (PPP)while announcing a policy for general elections in the country has allowed its candidates to file their nomination papers in their respective constituencies for the election of national and provincial assemblies.
In a statement issued Thursday, PPP Spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that the party still had right to review its course of action in the coming days and weeks in consultation with other political parties.
He said efforts were also on to talk to other political parties about forming a common political agenda, common plan and goal.
In this connection, he said, the formation of an interim government of national consensus was being discussed comprising those nominated by political parties to oversee a fair, free and impartial election on Jan. 8.
However, PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto warned that the PPP might still boycott the vote and would remain in close contact with other opposition parties, before making a final decision.
