Serendipity 3, a famous restaurant popular with tourists in New York City, has been shut down by the city Department of Health because of health violations, NY1 news channel reported on Thursday.
An inspection on Wednesday night found the restaurant crawling with cockroaches, mice and flies.
Inspectors spotted a live mouse and mouse droppings in many areas of the restaurant.
It was the second failed inspection in a month for the restaurant, which is located in Upper East Manhattan.
Last week, the world's most expensive dessert, Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, was tagged a price of 25,000 U.S. dollars per order at the restaurant.
