A plane that landed at LaGuardia Airport, New York, on Thursday afternoon was searched after a bomb threat was reported to the police, NY1 news channel reported.

All 117 passengers and five crew members on American Airlines flight 382 safely exited the plane after landing.

The plane was from Chicago O'Hare. The Transportation Security Administration said that the threat was phoned by a man who said he got the information from the Internet.

The call came into a general number at the New York Police Department and was transferred to 911. The caller, who spoke slowly, claimed he had seen information on the Internet that there was a bomb on the flight.

The empty plane was isolated at a section of LaGuardia Airport following the bomb threat, and no bomb has been founded so far.

Other flights were not affected at the airport.
