New Zealand police confirmed Thursday the body of the woman discovered in the boot of a car Wednesday was that of 27 year-old Anan Liu.
The police said a post-mortem examination of Anan Liu's body was carried out and preliminary findings from the pathologist are that she died during a violent episode, though the pathologist can 't be precise about when she died.
The body of Liu was discovered in the boot of a vehicle outside the Keystone Ave, Mt Roskill, address of Nai Yin Xue, who abandoned his three year-old Chinese girl at a Melbourne railway station on Saturday morning.
Officers had investigated the disappearance of Anan Liu, the 27 year-old mother of Qianxun Xue, carried out a preliminary search of the vehicle and discovered the body.
Qianxun is confirmed by police to be the daughter of the New Zealand magazine publisher, Nai Xin Xue, 54, and his wife.
Xue had left his daughter at Melbourne's Southern Cross railway station, before boarding a plane to the U.S. on Saturday.
Police said Thursday they have a warrant for Xue's arrest in New Zealand for the murder of Anan Liu and the abduction of their daughter, Qianxun Xue.
Qianxun is still in foster care in Australia. Her grandmother in Hunan, China, is getting a visa to New Zealand.
