One U.S. soldier was killed and another three injured in a car crash outside Pristina, the capital of Serbia's southern province of Kosovo, news from Pristina said on Monday.
The accident happened on Sunday at the village of Caglavica, where the vehicle in which the soldiers traveled skidded off the road and overturned. No civilians were involved or injured in the crash.
The man was pronounced dead in a Pristina hospital, and the three injured were airlifted to a military hospital in the U.S. Bondsteel base in southern Kosovo, and were in a stable condition, it was reported.
U.S. troops are among about 16,000 peacekeepers serving in the NATO-led mission in Kosovo since June 1999 when NATO forces drove out Serbian forces fighting ethnic Albanian rebels.
