Israeli army gunned down a Palestinian man at Gaza side of the security fence in northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya Tuesday noon, paramedics said.
The army prevented ambulance workers from getting close to the fence to evacuate the body of Ra'ed al-Riffati, 34, who was lying near the beach, a few meters away from the border, Dr. Mu'awia Hassanin with the ambulance said.
Hassanin said the paramedics were told by the family of the dead that the man was mentally disordered.
Witnesses in the area said no weapons were seen with the man who was dressed in civilian cloths.
Also in the same area, Israeli aircraft has fired a missile at a car but the occupants survived unharmed, the witnesses said.
