Three sets of incendiary devices were found in a top French business school on Thursday ahead of a meeting to be attended by President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The devices were found in the toilets of an international business school HEC on the western outskirts of Paris. The school is due to hold an annual meeting for employers' group MEDEF from Aug. 29 to 31, which business leaders and senior officials including Sarkozy and EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana are expected to attend.
The devices, composed of 16 bottles containing flammable liquid and connected with three detonators, an electronic timer and a battery, wouldn't explode if ignited, but would cause a major fire, the Paris prosecutor's office said.
Anti-terrorism investigators are working on the case, the office added.
