Romania decided on Wednesday to hold elections on Nov. 25 for the designation of Romania's representatives to the European Parliament, Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said.

Romania, which officially joined the EU on Jan. 1st this year, will be represented in the European Parliament by 35 members. According to the EU Accession Treaty, Romania is to organize elections for the parliamentarians until the end of the year.

The elections, initially scheduled for May, was postponed due to the political crisis gripping the country at the time.
