The Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas) announced on Wednesday that it has fired nine mortar shells on Kerem Shalom crossing in southeast Gaza Strip.
In a statement sent to the reporters, Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, armed wing of Hamas movement, said the shelling was in response to the "frequent Israeli aggressive actions in Gaza Strip.
"Six Palestinians were killed over the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip in Israeli air and artillery strikes that targeted groups of militants who launched rockets into Israel.
Meanwhile, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement claimed responsibility for firing one home-made rocket into southern Israel's city of Sderot.
Early in the morning, Fatah's armed wing launched two rockets into Sderot, also saying that they were responding to the Israeli raids into Gaza.
