Three soldiers of the U.S.-led coalition forces were killed by a roadside bomb in Nangarhar province of eastern Afghanistan on Sunday morning, a coalition statement said.

The soldiers and their civilian interpreter were killed near Bar Kalakney village of Khogyani district in a combat operation, the statement said.

The names and nationalities of the deceased are being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

One coalition soldier was also wounded, according to the statement.

About 13,000 coalition soldiers are being deployed in Afghanistan to fight militants and keep security.

Due to rising Taliban violence, over 3,800 persons have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
