The second unit of Chinese army aviation helicopters has arrived at Russia's Shagol airbase on Wednesday.

So far, all the Chinese military helicopters for the joint military exercise have been deployed as scheduled.

The first helicopters unit arrived at the Urals airbase Tuesday evening after two days of flight and transition.

The 16 Mi-17 transportation helicopters and 16 Z-9 armed helicopters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have traveled about 2,700 km after taking off from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China.

The "Peace Mission 2007" anti-terrorism drill, sponsored by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), will be carried out in Chelyabinsk and Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang, from Aug. 9 to 17.
