Vietnam will host the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) week from late August to early September in an attempt to boost trade, investment and tourism along the corridor, the organizer said Friday.

Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will held a forum on promoting investment, trade and tourism promotion in the 1,450-km EWEC which goes through many localities of Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar, a trade fair, an exhibition, caravan tours, and cultural and sports exchanges during the week from Aug. 27 to Sep. 1 in central Da Nang city, said the municipal People's Committee.

Participation in the week will include officials and entrepreneurs from the four EWEC countries, Japan, China, Cambodia, the United States and some international organizations.

The week will help further strengthen economic cooperation and facilitate trade, investment, and development between and among Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, the committee said.
