Israel Defense Forces (IDF) withdrew from the Gaza Strip on Friday morning, wrapping up its operations against the Palestinian militant infrastructure, a spokesman for the IDF told Xinhua.

During the operation in central Gaza on Thursday, IDF hit 13 Palestinian militants and arrested about 10 Palestinians, said the spokesman, adding that two Israeli soldiers sustained light wounds after their armored personnel carrier was hit by an anti-tank missile.

According to Palestinian sources, at least 11 Palestinians were killed during the clashes between the IDF and the militants in Gaza throughout Thursday.

The IDF said that the operation was aimed at clearing out explosives and rocket-launching infrastructure set up by Palestinian militants from the border area.
