A suicide car bomb and a roadside bomb rocked the Iraqi capital on Wednesday separately, killing three soldiers and wounding 10 others, an Interior Ministry source said. "A suicide bomber drove his explosive-laden car into a checkpoint manned by Iraqi army soldiers on a bridge in Baghdad's southern district of Doura and detonated it after midday, killing at least two soldiers and wounding seven others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. The blast also damaged several nearby civilian cars, the source added. Earlier, the source said the attack targeted an Iraqi army checkpoint near the Nafaq al-Shurta area in western Baghdad, but then changed his story. In a separate incident, a roadside bomb went off close to an Iraqi army patrol near the Nafaq al-Shurta area in western Baghdad, the source said. One soldier was killed and three more were wounded in the blast which also damaged a military vehicle, added the source. Insurgents frequently attack Iraqi army and police forces, accusing them of collaborating with U.S. occupation.
