Hebei province, in northern China, will build three modern comprehensive ports, including Qinhuangdao Port, Tangshan Port, and Huangyi Port in the next three years. This will become the world's largest coal export port cluster.
In 2007, the design and handling capabilities of ports in Hebei doubled, growing to 392 million tons and 399 million tons, respectively, from 170 million tons and 140 million tons in 2002. And Qinghuangdao Port is the world's first and largest port to transport more than 200 million tons of coal.
